News Corp Australia has today launched a gripping new podcast, video and editorial series, The Mushroom Cook.

Led by the Herald Sun’s investigative news team and spearheaded by journalist Brooke Grebert-Craig, the series goes behind the scenes and follows the police investigation into how a seemingly ordinary family lunch in a rural Victorian town resulted in the deaths of three people.

The Mushroom Cook follows the twists and turns of that deadly meal, delves into the past of the woman who cooked it and outlines the court process as Erin Patterson stands trial for murder.

Herald Sun Editor Sam Weir says “This story has gripped not only Australia but people all around the world.”

NewsCast Editorial Director, Audio Dan Box says “The team behind this podcast have worked hard to report on this case with the sensitivity, compassion and rigour such a tragedy deserves.”

“While it is ultimately up to the jury to determine what happened, our team’s approach to this series is in the finest tradition of news reporting.”

Subscribers of News Corp Australia’s state mastheads will have exclusive first access to episodes of The Mushroom Cook as they are released each week.

The first episode will be released today and then every Sunday from March 31. More info here.
