New frontiers: Nick Engel joins RØDE as Senior Director of Engineering

Nick Engel has been appointed Senior Director of Engineering at RØDE, as the Australian-based audio technology company continues to innovate and expand its product offerings into new frontiers.

Engel (main photo) joins RØDE with more than 20 years’ experience in the audio technology industry, having held senior engineering positions at Dolby and Apple.

In his new role, Engel will oversee all aspects of engineering for the New Product Group.

RØDE says his leadership will be instrumental in driving the development of the company’s future product roadmap.

RØDE CEO Damien Wilson says “Nick’s expertise will be crucial as we push the boundaries of what’s possible in creative technology and continue to create exceptional products for the next generation of creators.”

Engel says RØDE is a global leader in its field.

“I’ve always been able to rely on RØDE products both professionally and in my creative personal life, so it’s an honour to join the company at such an exciting time.”

In other news, The Freedman Group – of which RØDE serves as the flagship brand – has announced that Alex Nelson (pictured above) is taking on a new role as an advisor and board member for Loud Audio, LLC.

It comes as Nelson retires from his role as Mackie CEO after 18 years of leadership.
