New challenge: Ben Latimer leaves NOVA Entertainment

Reporter

Ben Latimer says he is excited to embark on a new challenge over the coming months, as he departs his role as Head of Programming for Nova 96.9, Nova 919 and national shows for the NOVA network.

Latimer announced on LinkedIn that after nearly 6 years at NOVA Entertainment, it’s time to say goodbye.

“I’ve had the most incredible time at NOVA and am proud of what we achieved during my time.”

“I have learnt so much from the teams and have been inspired by their passion for our industry. Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with me. I am glad I had the opportunity to work hard, have fun and make history alongside some of the best in the biz. I will treasure that moving forward and hope to keep in touch.”

Whilst not revealing specifically what’s ahead on the work front, Latimer says he is eager to explore new opportunities and connect with new colleagues.

Prior to his role at Nova, Latimer spent five years with Foxtel as program director of its music channels.

He began his career at ARN, initially working at talk station 5DN before moving to FM, as Content Director at Mix 102.3.

He then relocated to Sydney and was EP of WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda Breakfast show for five years.

One of the rippers of Radio.
Ben is one of the true greats and enjoyed many years working with Ben at MMM in the 90’s. Will be a loss to the industry but I’m sure will be back in some capacity in many years to come. All the best Ben.

I’m pretty sure that Ben started as a casual cart tart at Triple M Adelaide after being a volunteer at a community radio station in Salisbury. 5DN wasn’t a name back then, it was Radio 1323 and pretty sure he wasn’t there (I was at both those stations around that time). Impressive career though and wasn’t a bad guy back then.

Great career. Aside from excellence at radio – also good at taking great photography! Good luck Ben in the future.
