“My proudest career achievement.” Zan Rowe’s Take 5 enters 20th year on radio

It started out as a weekly Friday morning radio segment. The format was simple: Zan Rowe interviewed high-profile guests who explored their own personal history through music.

Now, Take 5 is entering its 20^th year on radio.

In 2026 it continues as a Double J podcast, at the new time of 7pm Thursdays.

Rowe has kicked off the latest season of the podcast with English singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor as the special guest.

Rowe said on LinkedIn “This little idea I cooked up back on triple j forever fills my cup. It’s become a podcast, a TV show, and is my proudest career achievement.”
