More change at FIVEaa with Jon Blake’s departure

Terrible news. This station seems to have no idea what the listeners listen for anymore.

Ratings tanking further at this station as they become more detached from their listeners every day.

A case of ‘What the ……..”
Unbelievable – Jon is entertaining, great with his Behind Closed Doors segments, impersonations etc.

Have been listening for years and thoroughly enjoy his work.
We all need light entertainment which he does very well.

No loss, making fun of other people and colleagues shortcomings, sometimes tantamount to bullying.
Clever but mostly not funny.

Absolute disgrace sacking this legion…. a word I rarely say….. 5AA bosses should hang their head in shame I am appalled of how short sighted is their decision making…unbelievable and I am done with 5aa after listening for umpteen years

That is so so sad that they won’t renew John Blake’s contract. He is an entertainer who makes people laugh. I would look forward to listening to John every night. I hope he does get back on radio and I will switch just to listen to Blakey. Bad move 5aa

Sad sad sad news. John was a breathe of fresh air on the radio. He made us laugh and brought joy for one hour everyday.

BIG MISTAKE 5aa WRONG MOVE

After being away for a long weekender I’ve just switched on this morning and no Jon Blake segments. I’ve now found out that his contract was not renewed and he’s gone as of last Friday. I and most of my friends only listen to the 5AA breaky show mainly to tune into Jon’s comedic genius. He was always my start the day with a good laugh.
We’ll all be now looking forward to the start of 2024 and tune into the ABC for the new Sonya and Jules breaky show. Shame on you 5AA

Sad about Jon Blake but will definitely not listen to Stacey as I couldn’t listen to her at ABC. Don’t think you know what and who we want Like the boys in the morning and drive time too

Why on earth would 5aa do that!!!!! Will really miss his segments.

I have switched off after Leon was dumped . Some others have well and truly passed their use by date …need younger fresh blood ..

5AA don’t know what an asset they have in John Blake. One of the most original, comedic radio personalities in the country. His self composed impersonations are genius.
Just get him back 5AA, pay the man well, very well and retain him.

I left listening to 5aa has become boring went to 104.7 fm so much better and variety.

This is an atrocity. I have been a long time listener but management have no idea who people want to listen to. I am no longer interested in the gardening show, now Angie is being replaced in the afternoon and I feel the Pembo and Will have lost their edge. Time to find a new station.

What a disgrace to sack such a talented and incredibly smart man, who has only been an asset to 5aa. These decision-makers are ruining what was once a very entertaining station to listen to.

I hear that Angie McBride wouldn’t work with him after he publicly humiliated her on his show

Disgraceful decision sacking Jon Blake he was very entertaining and the decision to hire Stacey Lee is mystifying as she is the reason a lot of people tuned out of the breakfast show on the ABC. I will certainly not be listening to her she is awful.

I only listened to 5aa because of Jon Blake. Not the same any more. Very disappointed.

So disappointing to hear that Jon Blake has been sacked ! He is the most talented and entertaining person on radio and will be a huge loss to 5AA listeners ! His amusing send ups and musical impersonations are always uplifting and entertaining ! Compared to some of the boring radio ‘personalities’ on 5AA , he’s in a league of his own ! I don’t who is making such bad decisions but honestly, you have no idea what the public like ! If you are so worried about offending anyone then stop playing boring, offensive ads about “getting garage doors up and down’
I used to love 5AA when Jeremy, Leon and Jon were on air but now find most shows repetitive and boring ! Top marks for Matthew Pantelis though – he’s well informed and very professional!

Jon Blake is the main reason I listen to 5AA. I thought he was on holidays but just discovered this disappointing news.

Wow, what a terrible loss to let Jon Blake go. He would make my day driving to work.
Its a sad reflection on 5AA excutive team making such decisions. Not at all reflecting on what the listeners want.

Oh dear. 5AA lost it’s final sparkle without Jon Blake. Only listened for his input. Guess I’m off to MMM or SEN or ABC. Whichever has the best humour in the mornings. Blakey greatly missed.

Disappointed Blakey has gone, but was starting to get a little tired anyway. Hope he recharges and turns up elsewhere.

Have tuned in to the morning show to hear Blakey not realising that he had not had his contract renewed. I only listened to your station for his segments. His was your biggest asset 5AA.

5aa has become a station of self opinionated announcers, same old same old outdated aged commentators holding positions that young people are being denied, I don’t listen anymore maybe selective times and people I want to listen to.

Horrible decision, won’t be listening to 5aa anymore

5aa is now owned by the Victorians and they have ravaged any thing to do with South Australia out of the show. The midnight till dawn comes from Victoria and it’s crappy.
