Money in Traffic
They are in the unique situation of being on virtually every cap city station up to every 15 minutes, in most major regional markets and they cover key info for those on the commute and they look to be on the market.
The Australian Traffic Network (ATN) is looking for a price tag of up to $250 million.
But their reach goes beyond our shores.
ATN is the Australian arm of the Global Traffic Network, which is the leading provider of custom traffic and news reports to radio and television stations with similar operations in Brazil, Canada and the United Kingdom.
According to the Australian Financial Review, a private equity firm in the US has up to half a dozen expressions of interest in ATN and their operations.
They report that they are aiming for a final price of $225 to $250 million for the company. It will be an auction model if the equity firm continues talks with the various parties who have so far signed on their interest. They are aiming to close the deal by the end of the year.
ATN provides traffic information for nearly every major radio group in Australia at no cost with the advertising they sell themselves within each update.
