Mix FM raise 300k in appeal

Staff Writer

The SCA 'Give Me 5 for Kids' campaign has developed over many years into a resounding success.

Despite Mix FM Sunshine Coast not being part of SCA anymore, following a forced divestment by the ACMA, the station has continued to run the appeal.

WIth the appeal month of June now over, Mix FM has managed to raise a touch over $300,000 to support sick children on the Sunshine Coast.

All money raised will be donated towards the Child Development Service for the Sunshine Coast hospital, equipment for the Nambour General Hospital Paediatric Unit, and the wellbeing and entertainment of young patients in the Children’s Ward at the Nambour General Hospital.

Mix also raised a further $136,000 from a join fun-run with Cotton-On, called The Run Sunshine Coast; this will be donated as well.

MIX FM’s Give Me 5 for Kids Coordinator, Isaac Retchless commented;

“It’s incredible for us to raise that sort of money in one month on the Sunshine Coast with the economy the way it is".
