Mix 106.3 packs the bus to help local families this festive season

Mix 106.3, Transport Canberra and Communities at Work are getting onboard again this festive season by asking Canberrans to help them pack a Transport Canberra bus with essential food and toy items for local kids and families in need.

Pack the Bus builds on the success of last year’s campaign, which saw 13,800 individual donations, which packed the bus several times over.

The bus will be on the streets from Monday, November 25 for three weeks and will be driven around the region, collecting items from pre-arranged locations including schools, shopping centres and supermarkets.

And the bus will be difficult to miss, with this year’s theme featuring iconic Christmas scenes from around the ACT, along with some naughty elves catching a ride with Santa in the driver’s seat.

amplifyCBR General Manager Craig Wagstaff says “Over the years, there have quite literally been thousands of items donated so very generously by people and businesses across the Canberra/Queanbeyan region. We hope that again this year, it will be of significant benefit to families during the festive season.”

All donations collected will be distributed through local charity organisation Communities at Work.
