Mix 102.3 gives Adelaide mum the chance to achieve her dreams

Mix102.3’s Max & Ali in the Morning have left an inspirational Adelaide mum of four speechless, gifting her a brand-new laptop to complete her studies and achieve her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse.

Nicole Bellifemini returned to study after her husband Maurice suffered a major heart attack two years ago.

It prompted Nicole to chase her dreams after realising that “life is too short and it’s now or never.”

“Going back to studying has been a massive jump. It’s hard, especially when you’ve got work and kids and just life in general,” Nicole says.

She says her hubby’s heart attack was a huge reality check.

The couple – who live at Mawson Lakes with their four daughters – have been doing it tough, with Maurice off work for up to nine months.

Nicole’s dad bought her a second-hand laptop, however it crashed, which meaning Nicole couldn’t complete here course work.

She also lost 12 months of work that was saved on the computer.

In desperation, Nicole wrote to Max and Ali to explain her situation and ask for help.

Max and Ali were moved by Nicole’s story and came to the rescue last week with a brand-new laptop, kindly gifted by Rob Curnow and his team at 1800-GOT-JUNK.

Nicole says “This is just amazing. This has just made my year, my everything!”

Ali then revealed even more surprises for Nicole, including a weekend away with her whole family at Big 4 Holiday Park at West Beach, a cut and colour and pamper session at Clipjoint salon, a $500 Harbour Town voucher, a $500 FRANKIE4 voucher, and special dinner for her and her husband at the  Star of Greece restaurant in Port Willunga.

Ali says “We’re absolutely thrilled to be able to provide Nicole with a new laptop so that she can fulfil her dream of becoming a nurse without having the stress of losing her work.

The radio station is urging the people of Adelaide to come forward if someone they know deserves a helping hand after facing a challenging situation.
