Matt Tilley & Troy Ellis on being reunited at Nova 100

“It absolutely feels like it was just yesterday that we were last on air together,” says Troy Ellis.

Troy spent more than 10 years together with Matt Tilley on one of the most successful FM Breakfast shows.

After Fox FM’s Matt and Jo Show came off air in 2013, their radio lives took them in different directions.

Now they’ve come the full circle and are back working together on Nova 100 Mornings, with a new music-talk hybrid format.

Two weeks into the new show and the pair say they’ve found it easy to renew the on-air relationship. For Matt, it’s meant sitting in peak-hour traffic, but he’s enjoyed getting back on the bike.

“I think so because the bike has come back to me.  They’re not saying ‘you need to move in a new world of radio’.

“They’re saying ‘we want to bring a bit of old you back to radio’. I feel like that’s what they’re looking for.

“And with Troy, it’s felt more like a tricycle than a bike because it’s easy.  It’s much easier to ride.”

That sentiment is shared by Ellis, who joined NOVA Entertainment in February of 2018.

“I’ve love being teamed up with Matty again because Matty and I have, I think, almost a second language.

“It’s been a really comfortable relationship.”

Matt Tilley in the Morning can be heard 9am-12pm, Monday to Friday on Nova 100.
