Marty Sheargold still on personal leave

Marty Sheargold has not presented his breakfast show on Melbourne’s Triple M 105.1 since Monday October 9 with an SCA Spokesperson saying he is taking personal leave to spend some more time with family.

Sheargold’s anchor Troy Ellis filled in last week, with Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann looking after things so far this week.

This is the third year of the Marty Sheargold show on Triple M after Sheargold took over from Eddie McGuire at the start of 2021. For a decade previously he was part of various drive line ups with Nova 106.9. The show rated 5.8 in GfK Survey 6, with the catch up radio podcast one of the big movers in last month’s Australian Podcast Ranker.

The Herald Sun (subscription required) reported that Sheargold was allegedly involved in an incident at the AFL grand finals.

Sheargold also did not attend Saturday night’s Australian Commercial Radio Awards where the show was up for two awards and his producer Loren Barry was a presenter.

SCA have affirmed that he will be back on air soon.

Marty was on air for the entire week following the AFL Grand Final. He is in his second week of leave.

What is it with these triple M guys.
First it was Lawrence Mooney, now
Marty Sheargold, next it will be Mick Molloy. What a trifecta.
