Making waves for K9 Rescue Group

91.7 The Wave recently raised $10,000 for the K9 Rescue Group at their second K9 Dog Rescue Quiz Night

After a successful inaugural event in 2022, The Wave put their paws together to up the ante for the non-profit dog rescue team – selling all 23 tables for the quiz night in under a week.

Hosting a fundraiser is always a mammoth task, but thanks to our amazing business community we were successful in receiving a huge amount of donations for raffles, door prizes and auctions items,” said 91.7 The Wave Promotions Coordinator, Cindy Brown.

“Lane Group stadium donated their platinum room and staff for the night of the fundraiser, which saw us raise over $10,000 for the K9 Rescue Group to help with the upgrade of their puppy enclosure.”

Donations this year included a big-screen TV, a houseboat stay, a signed Sydney FC jersey, and vouchers donated by local businesses.

K9 Rescue Group is a non-profit organisation established to help rescue and re-home dogs, as well as educate the community on responsible dog ownership. Money raised at the quiz night will go directly to refurbishing K9’s puppy enclosures.

“The Quiz night was a fantastic night, not only did it raise necessary funds for K9 Rescue Group, the volunteers that went on the night had a great time,” said K9 Rescue President, Louisa Ackland.

“K9 wish to thank The Wave, Gunners and Ali and other staff involved for holding the night and appreciate all the effort and hard work that will have gone into organising a large event, such as this.”

The team at 91.7 The Wave thanked all the volunteers who helped make the night a success and all the sponsors who donated prizes.
