Livinia Nixon: “I love radio”

Livinia Nixon loves radio, both the reach it offers and the special connection it provides.

“I personally get so much joy out of listening to the radio, whether it’s music that lifts my mood or whether I’m figuring out what’s going on in the world,” the TV and radio host tells me on the Food Bytes podcast this week.

“I love hearing people ring up with their stories or their comments or their ideas. Every single person has something interesting to say.”

Livinia joined Nine Radio in mid 2020, hosting weekend shifts across 2UE 954, Magic 1278, 4BH 882 and 6GT DAB+.

No stranger to the medium, Livinia was previously heard on Melbourne’s Nova 100 and also hosted the drive shift on TT FM with Ed Phillips for 18 months.

She currently hosts Saturday and Sunday afternoons on Melbourne’s Magic 1278, and is loving every minute.

Livinia – who grew up with posters of Rick Astley, Bros and Transvision Vamp on her bedroom walls – is enjoying sharing her favourite music across the weekends.
