Living in a world we can’t switch off from

We have created a world that we can’t switch off from.

That was the concerning observation when a panel of sleep app creators took to the stage during Podcast Day 24.

That being the case, how do you create a podcast people can fall asleep to?

Sleepiest UK CEO Hayden Bailey says there’s more to it than simply boring people to sleep – it’s about giving people the space to go to sleep.

The Sleepiest app was born when Bailey – struggling to get a good night’s sleep himself – looked into creating sleep meditation and bedtime stories for adults.

Niall Breslin from the Wake Up/Wind Down podcast talked about culture:

“The CEO of Netflix said that their biggest competitor is sleep. That’s not normal.”

“Our culture frames everything in terms of threat and risk but we have created a world that we can’t switch off from.”
