Lawrence Mooney and SCA end court proceedings

SCA and former employee, Lawrence Mooney, have agreed to dismiss court proceedings stemming from the Moonman’s sudden departure from Triple M, and the premature contract temination that then followed.

Mooney abruptly disappeared from Triple M in November last year for reasons that are unclear, before taking SCA to court for their decision to terminate his contract with over a year left.

Today SCA released a statement about Mooney’s departure, as well as the mutual decision of both parties to resolve issues and end court proceedings.

“Lawrence Mooney finished up on the Triple M Sydney Breakfast show in November 2021.”

“Mr Mooney commenced proceedings in the NSW Supreme Court to dispute SCA’s decision to terminate his contract, which SCA defended.”

“SCA and Mr Mooney have agreed to resolve the issues between them and for the proceedings to be dismissed.”

“Mr Mooney and SCA will not be providing further comment.”

The statement reads as the final nail in the coffin for the saga.

Mooney recently put his Southern Highlands home in Burradoo up for sale for $4.8m, showing new horizons are on the agenda for the Moonman, but no clear indication of exacty what is next.

Currently, Mooney is touring for his live show, Beauty, which runs in Brisbane until May 8th, before beginning in Sydney at the Opera House from May 19th.

Good outcome for Moonman, that’s why we have workplace contracts.

Was a fan but his comedy was stale and can see why they wanted him out.
