Listen to Kyle Sandilands’ five-minute tirade after technical glitch
Somebody on the Kyle & Jackie O Show woke on the wrong side of the bed today.
At about 8.45am on Wednesday, during a call with a listener, the sensor beep was activated and continued for at least two minutes.
Not ideal, but also not the biggest blunder to come from the KIIS FM studios.
However, after Intern Pete interrupted the duo with news of the mishap it sparked Sandilands to unleash on producers, in a five-minute tirade of verbal putdowns.
Sandilands and Henderson weren’t impressed with the glitch, calling the team ‘idiots’ and ‘imbeciles’ as the shock jock ordered staffers to “get rid of this beep machine”.
“Ruining great radio,” said the KIIS FM star. “You’re sitting there grinning, looking like you’re watching TV through the window.
“Why do I bother coming in and doing this show if the whole thing is going to get ruined by imbeciles?”
It appears Sandilands may have forgotten about his renewed multi-million-dollar pay packet from employers Australian Radio Network.
If that’s not a reason to “bother”, I’ll be damned. If you can stomach it, listen for yourself:
Jake – you are obviously not a regular listener to the show – and I’m surprised you put the show down so much when the vast majority of the people who will be reading this are the producers and content directors from all over Australia. Many of whom religiously listen to the show each day for inspiration for their own shows.
When Kyle puts down his producers – he is playing with them – albeit with colourful language. It’s what the bolted on listeners love about the show. When stuff ups happen – that is part of the show’s fabric.
Kyle is not everyone’s flavour, but to his listeners and many people in the industry, he is in a league of his own. His pay packet, longevity and ratings are testament to that.
Hey Drew… big fan of the K&J show here, listen daily. And I’ve great respect for Kyle as a broadcaster. I get that listeners love the unpredictability, the drama and the theatrics that go on. I enjoy it equally. It’s great radio. But there is a line, and it starts and finishes with people. Pretty much anything else is fair game. Thanks for leaving a comment mate, appreciate the POV.

Drew is drinking the Kool-Aid. This probably boarders on workplace bullying and is unnecessary. Jackie sounds so uncomfortable but not half as uncomfortable some of team probably feel in the moment.
Come on.
I sense a complete set up here.

i agree this is a totally set up , they are running out of ideas , how can you accidentally bump the sensor button , isn’t there a lady who has to manually press the button? im calling BS
Wouldn’t have been done on purpose, but that is not a tirade. I worked for a decade on various high rating Sydney breakfast shows (including that one) and have seen and heard far worse than that!
That was a slap on the wrist with a wet lettuce leaf.
Isn’t it the ‘CENSOR’ button/beep? (Or is the button just sensitive). Spell cheque, thou are a heartless bitch.
