K rock & bay 93.9’s ‘Store With A Door’ encourages buying local

Geelong Broadcasters stations are encouraging consumers to buy local, launching their new ‘Store With A Door’ campaign.

K rock and bay 93.9’s new campaign is a twist on the classic ‘buy local’ campaigns of the past, and has been set up to remind those from Geelong, Bellarine and the Surf Coast to choose local businesses.

Targeting online shoppers before they click purchase, the campaign asks; “why not invest in your hometown businesses and keep your town strong?”

GM of Geelong Broadcasters, Andy Mathers, said he’s proud to lead the campaign, which can be heard on Geelong radio stations K rock and bay 93.9, and will also be seen on giant digital billboards and via station online assets.

“We have the ability to impact a real change in thinking here, we understand impacts the local economy is facing at the moment and that’s where we can help,” said Mathers.

“We understand that online shopping has its place, but we don’t think it should be at the expense of local jobs and the local economy.”

Geelong Broadcasters is pitching the campaign as a resolution, not a revolution.

‘Make 2020 the year that you enjoy retail therapy again! Try things on, feel the quality, have a taste-test, even connect with another human!’ says the messaging.

“Local business, small and large, need our help and they need to know we have their backs,” adds Mathers.
