Jason Morrison considers politics

Staff Writer

Former 2UE and 2GB presenter Jason Morrison has confirmed that he considering running in the NSW state election next year.

Speaking to News Limited, Morrison said he is considering running for pre-selection in the seat of Epping in Sydney, which will be vacated by ex-attorney general Greg Smith prior to the election.

The seat is a prize seat to obtain pre-selection for, being a safe, blue-ribbon Liberal seat, and therefore it will be keenly sought by a number of people, including the current members son, Nathaniel.

Morrison, who lives in the electorate, is quoted in News as saying he was 'very flattered'  to be asked to consider putting his hand up for pre-selection.

Morrison currently acts as an advisor to Gina Rinehart, and makes appearances on Sky Television as a commentator. He is a highly regarded radio performer who was moved from Breakfast to Drive on 2UE at the end of 2012, before being sacked at the end of 2013 with 2UE saying they were heading in 'a different direction with the station'.
