Jase & Lauren back on air and spreading the love
Melbourne’s KIIS 101.1 Jase & Lauren in the Morning show returned to the air for their first show yesterday and kicked off the year with a Valentine’s Day surprise for some unsuspecting celebrities.
Jase and Lauren anonymously sent 10 bunches of flowers to 10 celebrities – Shane Warne, Karl Stefanovic, Tommy Little, Dylan Alcott, Kyle Sandilands, Abbie Chatfield, Brooke Blurton, Woody Whitehall (of the Will & Woody Show), Andy Lee’s partner Rebecca Harding, and MAF’s reality star Bryce Ruthven.
It was Bryce who got the biggest surprise and demanded to know who had sent them. His partner Melissa Rawson also was curious to find out who had sent the flowers.
Both Bryce and Melissa made calls to the florist to quiz them on who had ordered them. With the florist code of conduct prohibiting them from revealing the source of who ordered Valentine’s flowers, the mystery remained unsolved until…
This morning on the show, Jase and Lauren called Bryce and revealed they were the culprits.
Bryce admitted ‘It didn’t go down too well’
While Melissa took to Instagram to call out the stunt as ‘sick’.
“I wanted to address this because I’ve just had enough of jokes being made at my expense,” Rawson said.
“I know I signed up for it in MAFS, I know I was contracted to it to allow them to exploit and manipulate me was part of the contract, but I didn’t ask for this.
“To have this joke aired, and to have the female co-host laugh and cackle and carry on like it’s a big joke – because it was to them – I know that is how it was meant to be taken but I am in such a vulnerable state,” she said.
“…I’m two months into having our newborns home, my newborn premmies, and it doesn’t get easier.”
As a mother, a very poor radio stunt on a couple who have just gone through some tough months in NICU with the premature twins.
Poor taste whoever thought it was a good idea, particularly after Lauren’s actions laughing at a story of a murder victim.
I know for a fact some others on the list weren’t happy either. Poor taste from KIIS
Why risk upsetting people with something that isn’t even that good of an idea?
Bryce totally wrote all these comments
How disappoint from Radio Today to share this piece as content from KIIS 101.1.
What about the poor recipients who were publicly humiliated as a result. Judging off their social media accounts and the amount of comments on the KIIS and J&L pages, looks as thought the listeners are supporting Bryce and Melissa. Why not report all the backlash they’ve Jase and Lauren have copped?
And that apology, they’re snickering through it and she didn’t open her mouth.
Absolutely disgusting to target people who would be their key target demographic.

Lol I love all these fake comments from Bryce. Have a laugh. PS – if you don’t wanna ‘be a celebrity..’, don’t turn up to the events.

I’d put the house on it that those ‘people’ saying the victims of this distasteful radio stunt are those writing comments, probably are those that work with KIIS 101.1.
Like the on air apology, they lack any sympathy for people in their target demographic after what they thought would be a funny joke has back fired on the station big time.
Wheres the story this week on Kylie Sandilands ? Thats what the people want to read ….lol
Time to get Jamie Angel to play a better mix from the 80’s, 90s to now.
It really is a race to rock bottom between this show and Marry Shergold.
Jase is a radio guy, he should have read the writing on the wall when PJ left. Go back to NZ and get the band back together.
Sorry guys but this show imploded when PJ left, surprised Jase wasn’t smart enough to go back with her. They are like Jonesy and Amanda, Amanda / PJ clearly the stars with X factor. Apologies to the boys but that’s life.
Why didn’t the amazing Ash London get PJ’s job ?
