New TV show to cover Australia’s billion-dollar entertainment biz

Staff Writer

If you want to go behind the scenes of Australia’s billion-dollar entertainment industry, there’s a brand new show launching on Ticker TV next month promising to pull back the curtain.

Inside Entertainment will examine the business of pop culture – including music, television, radio, comedy and tech – every Wednesday at 2pm AEST from July 1.

Hosted by Radio Today and The Music Network’s editor, Jake Challenor, the 30-minute program will feature interviews and analysis of the week’s top headlines and trending topics.

A revolving door of newsmakers, reporters and commentators will join Challenor each week to unpack the big stories and share their unique perspectives on the industry.

“The entertainment industry in Australia has been growing at a phenomenal rate, but the pandemic has caused chaos across most sectors,” Challenor said.

“For that reason, now is the perfect time to launch Inside Entertainment, a program that’s dedicated to the big issues affecting the biz.”

Ticker TV is a streaming platform covering the world of business, money and tech. It was launched August 2019 by former Sky News host, Ahron Young.

“We are extremely excited by this new show,” Young said. “Jake has a whole lot of passion for media and together we want to celebrate the best of Aussie entertainment.

“This is a challenging time for the entertainment industry, but as things come back online, we want to share the stories and give the industry the voice it desperately needs.”

Radio broadcasters Alana McLean and Ryan Jon also joined the Melbourne startup recently, with McLean hosting its Jumpstart breakfast show, and Jon who anchors On The Download.

All content produced by Tickers is viewable on its app, available on Apple and Google, and on the Ticker website, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
