Staff Writer

I98FM in Wollongong has been conducting their impressive Camp Quality Convoy since 2005, and today has announced the 9th event for 2013.

The event raises funds for Camp Quality Illawarra to assist in brightening the lives of kids and their families who are living with cancer.

Last years event had 764 trucks, and 926 motorbikes take part raising $1.035m, which takes the grand total over the years to over $3.2m.

This years Convoy will be held on Sunday November 17, departing from the West Cliff Colliery on Appin Road, and travelling down Mt Ousley, through through Wollongong's central and southern suburbs before culminating in Albion Park Rail, at the southern end of the market.

Jason Saladino, WIN Radio General Manager said “The excitement is building as we draw closer to the ninth i98FM Camp Quality Convoy. We would love to see the Illawarra community get right behind it once again. Each year we are able to help more and more children and families within the Illawarra as they battle the challenges of childhood cancer."

Following the convoy, there will be a free Family Fun Day at Albion Park Rail, which will include entertainment, stalls, rides and other activities.

There are some exceptional events run by radio stations around Australia to support their communities, the Camp Quality Convoy is one of the most compelling.
