Hot Tomato sizzles in Gold Coast Survey 3 for 2024

Reporter

ARN’s Hot Tomato remains a solid favourite among local listeners in the latest Gold Coast GfK survey for 2024, up 2.0 among all people 10+ to 21.8, still well ahead of Triple M Gold (-0.3 to 14.2) and Sea FM (-1.2 to 9.0).

The local stations led the pack, with the Hot Tomato Breakfast team of Galey & Emily Jade growing its share by a remarkable 3.8 to be well clear at the top on 23.8, with Triple M Gold second in the brekky timeslot (+0.1 to 14.7) and Sea FM third.

Hot Tomato Content Director Brendon “Whippy” Dangar says “We must be the luckiest people in the world! We live in the best city, get to play radios every day and people actually listen! So proud of our entire team, what a year it has been with a record amount of radio awards and more record-breaking survey results.”

Peter Whitehead, ARN’s Chief Commercial Officer, added “Hot Tomato continues to set the standard for success on the Gold Coast, as we strive to consistently deliver an engaging, relevant experience for listeners. These loyal audiences provide our commercial partners with unique opportunities to connect with Gold Coasters in meaningful and memorable ways, demonstrating ARN’s commitment to high-quality, localised content that resonates with audiences and advertisers alike, driving real impact and value.”

It’s truly so surprising Sea thought they were going to change things with that offering

Great local station.
I know it’s obvious but I don’t think you can underestimate the power of local. A big and growing population well served by a station that is hyper-local and also a strong local drive show.
Sea FM & MMM are very generic, especially as Sea FM is a networked breakfast show.
Just hope ARN do make cuts to pay for Kyle and Jackie’s new $20 Million contract next year as part of their $20 million in cost savings laid out in the annual report

Genuine question: What happened with ABC GC? And what’s happening in evenings?
