Hot 30 replaced with The Bump

Staff Writer

After the prank call controversy in December, and the subsequent dropping of the national Hot 30 Countdown on the Today network, SCA have developed a new show to replace it.

The Bump will be an interactive program hosted solo by ex-SAFM breakfast host Angus O’Loughlin, who has already been heard in the timeslot for the past couple of weeks.

See 'The Bump' website here.

The show will feature celebrity interviews with the music being programmed by listeners via social media with pop up countdowns and 'music battle' features. The listeners will have the capacity to 'bump' songs in and out of the playlist.

Ex-Nova Adelaide breakfast team of Dan Debuf and Maz Compton are still serving out their non-compete clause, and will start on-air in March doing a national 6pm-8pm show which will be followed by 'The Bump'.

‘The Bump’ airs weeknights on 2Day FM Sydney, Fox FM Melbourne, B105 Brisbane, 92.9 FM Perth, SAFM Adelaide, NXFM Newcastle, Sea FM Gold Coast and selected markets on Southern Cross Austereo’s regional network.

It is understood Mel & MC remain on leave and are still being taken care of by the network. Only time will tell whether they return and in what capacity. A decision we're sure SCA (and Mel & MC) will not be rushing into. More on that here.
