Holmesy leaves Hot Tomato

Paul 'Holmesy' Holmes has announced on-air today that he is leaving Hot Tomato on the Gold Coast.

The 'Holmesy & Flan' Breakfast Show has been on the station for a number of years, originally in drive, and was this week expanded when Emily-Jade O'Keeffe was added to the lineup.

On-air this morning, in an emotional and professional farewell, Holmesy said in part;

"It's time for me to say goodbye, this is the last show that I'll be doing at Hot Tomato. The decision was made yesterday, and someone else will start on monday and the journey will continue"

"Hans and the Hot Tomato staff, thank you for putting up with me and for your support. Thanks to everyone else, all the clients I've had contact with, and the listeners I've met"

"I wish Hot Tomato all the best, there are great things on the way, please stay listening. Bye bye."

Holmesy's long-term on-air partner Flan commented;

"I love you mate, and I'll love you forever, you're my guy. Seven years ago when I found out I was going to be working with you I was overjoyed".

There has been no announcement on any replacement for Holmesy on the Breakfast Show.
