Hit92.9 fan living for free in 2019

Hit 92.9’s Heidi, Xavier and Ryan Breakfast show has ended the year on a high note with an absolute life-changer for one lucky listener.

Social worker Rhys had all his Christmases come at once by winning a mortgage-free 2019 thanks to Hit92.9’s ‘Live For Free’ with Blueprint Homes.

Rhys works for Uniting Care West in a job that sees him working with people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless and helps them get back on their feet.

He says he went into shock when that winning moment struck.

“My body went a bit numb in the beginning and it took me a few seconds to realise it was me.”

“It’s life-changing for me. Having a mortgage on my own and waiting for my next pay cheque to pay my bills.”

The freedom of not worrying about the mortgage also means Rhys can concentrate on playing rugby for the Perth Rams and representing WA at the Bingham World Cup in Canada.

“The Perth Rams are WA’s only inclusive gay rugby team. Next year, we’re looking to go to the Bingham Cup and represent WA in the gay World Cup.”
