Hit106.9’s Nick, Jess & Simon will change how you listen to music with ‘Every Pop Song’

Former Assistant Editor

Hit106.9‘s Breakfast team have put their own spin on the formulaic way that pop music is written in 2018.

Nick, Jess and Simon, with help from regular guest Kalyn Ponga, have released their own tune called ‘Every Pop Song (in 2 minutes)’ poking fun at the tried and tested tropes that make up pop music.

They explore cliches including “a nice short intro that they can talk over on the radio” and “when a rapper comes from nowhere and sings a verse”.

As with many pop songs, the list of credits is pretty enormous.

Nick Gill is credited as the main artist, featuring K-Pong, with Baggsy x J Farch. It also features Dan & Han & Ash, in conjunction with Doogie Dog (Mark ‘Doogie’ Brewer).

The song is now out on Spotify.
