Hit space podcast returns for third season

Reporter

BBC World Service and BBC Sounds have announced their award-winning podcast 13 Minutes To The Moon is returning with a new series.

13 Minutes Presents: The Space Shuttle tells the epic story of a sci-fi dream that became reality and changed spaceflight forever, told by the NASA astronauts, engineers, scientists and support staff who made it happen.

Above all, it’s about the human story behind the technology and scientific endeavour.

This is the third season of the podcast, and follows on from the stories of the first moon landing and the near-disaster of Apollo 13.

13 Minutes Presents: The Space Shuttle will be presented by space scientist Dame Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, who says “I’m delighted to be joining the team of 13 Minutes and telling the extraordinary story of the Space Shuttle. The first two seasons of the podcast made for essential listening, so it’s a privilege to be a part of season three. I hope listeners will join me as we explore the Space Shuttle and that they come away with a deeper appreciation for the people, risks, and moments that shaped this incredible chapter in space exploration history.”

13 Minutes Presents: The Space Shuttle will be available from 14 July on BBC Sounds and wherever you get your BBC podcasts.
