Chart Highlights –– 12 September 2024

• Heating Up: Shawn Mendes reappears at #35 with ‘Why Why Why’
• Cooling Off: ‘Houdini’ by Dua Lipa slips to its lowest chart position
• Big Mover: Ariana Grande boosted by strong support from the Hit Network

Shawn Mendes is back in the AirCheck National Radio Airplay Chart with ‘Why Why Why’ re-entering at #35. It’s the song’s second week in the Top 40 after debuting at #38 in August. Since then, Nova have dropped the song while K rock, i98 and the Hit Network have picked up spins.

Meanwhile, Dua Lipa’s former #1 ‘Houdini’ slips to its lowest point on the chart after 45 weeks on air. Falling to #34 from #29, ‘Houdini’ is slowly succumbing to the inevitable gravity of the charts with KIIS notably cutting the song from the playlist altogether.

After nearly dropping out of the Top 40, Ariana Grande’s ‘We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)’ rebounds seven spots to #32. ‘Friends’ increased by +25.8% nationally thanks to heavy rotation on 101.9 The Fox, 90.9 Sea FM and Hit101.3.
