Heart London EP gets gig with Nova

Staff Writer

dmg Radio have this afternoon announced that Tony Aldridge will be Nova 96.9's new Assistant Program Director, replacing Irene Hulme who left a few months ago.

Tony has been in the UK radio industry for 20 years, starting as an Audio Producer at Essex Radio, then moving up to Program Manager of Essex FM, then he became Program Controller of Southern FM.

It's there he worked with dmg Radio's Group PD Paul Jackson, where they won a Sony Award for their work on that station.

Tony has most recently worked as EP for the Heart London breakfast team, Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton.

Aldridge will work closely with Fitzy & Wippa and their team, as did Hulme in her time at the station.

Nova 96.9 PD Brendan Taylor said, “I’m thrilled to have Tony join the Nova Sydney team. His passion and experience are the perfect addition to the Sydney team.”

Tony said: “To receive the call to come to the best city in the world and work with the team at Nova and spend my days with Fitzy and Wippa – who could resist. These guys are a phenomenal talent, have an unbelievable passion and the messed up creativity to win – and that they will.”
