How a 16-year-old became Gold104.3’s music reviewer

Christian O’Connell recently made a young girl’s dream come true, after 16-year-old Caitlin was officially installed as Gold FM’s new music reviewer.

It all started when O’Connell spoke with a listener called Chris, who had purchased tickets to Fleetwood Mac for himself and his daughter Caitlin.

Chris had attempted to surprise Caitlin by buying tickets to Fleetwood Mac on Monday night from a private seller.

But the seller pulled out at the last minute – after Caitlin and Chris had already arrived at the venue.

O’Connell was taken by the story and gave the pair tickets to the band’s Wednesday night gig, and Caitlin was invited into the studio on Thursday to deliver her review of the gig live-to air.

The Breakfast host was so impressed that he offered her a regular spot as a GOLD104.3 gig reviewer.
