The dayparts are competitive, at least until after Midday, where Hot Tomato dominates;
Hot Tomato’s ‘Flan & Emily-Jade’ and Gold FM’s “Richard, Bridge & Spida” were equal #1 last survey, and share the leading spot again this time, on a 12.5% share.
The ABC are in 3rd position in Breakfast on 10.9%, with Sea FM in last place (but improving) on a 10.1% share.
Gold FM narrowly wins Mornings on 13.4%, by 0.1% over Hot Tomato, whilst Hot Tomato leads in Afternoons and Drive with massive margins of around 7% in each daypart.
The demo wins are shared, Sea FM win teens and 25-39’s, Hot Tomato win 18-24, and 40-54, Gold FM dominate 55-64, and the ABC winning 65+.
Hot Tomato is #1 in both the 25-54 and the 18-39 demographics.
Traditionally the Gold Coast is a tight market, and whilst this survey has elements of that, it’s a tough result for SCA, and the clear winner is Hot Tomato; who are now the Gold Coast’s number one radio station by over 2% overall, and number one 18-54 by a significant margin.
