Give a ‘Whisper’, get a car

Staff Writer

For their final show of 2014, 2UE’s John Stanley and Garry Linnell gave a brand new Hyundai i30 Active to a lucky 2UE listener.

During the year, the 2UE breakfast show called for listeners to give a ‘whisper’ – that is, news or a rumour that the people of Sydney need to know about.

2UE Content Director Clinton Maynard said: "’The Whisper’ is a new segment to Sydney news talk radio that creates waves in the news cycle every week. This year we've broken dozens of stories through tips from our listeners aired on ‘The Whisper’.

“The segment even prompted debate in Federal Parliament on the issue of security and women wearing the Burqa when a tip suggested a protestor would attempt to wear the head dress inside the chamber. The segment has become must listen on Sydney radio and will be back even bigger in 2015."

The winner, Donna from the Hills district  called with her whisper on heat reading technology allowing people to access your ATM PIN number.
