From radio to TV: Bevo takes on new gig at Nine

Reporter

Former KIIS 97.3 Weekend announcer Lee ‘Bevo’ Bevington has moved into TV, taking on a new role as a Broadcast Engineer at Channel Nine in Brisbane.

Bevo has enjoyed a long and varied radio career, having previously spent nine years at 91.1 Hot FM on the Sunshine Coast, working both on air and as Music Director.

In 2019, after taking some time out to focus on his DJ and entertainment business, Bevo returned to radio as a Content Director with SCA, overseeing the team at Triple M Fraser Coast and Hit101.9 Fraser Coast.

More recently, he’s also been heard across the community radio airwaves, hosting Drive on 101.5FM Moreton Bay.

One of the nicest blokes to ever worked in radio and media.
His podcast “The Radio Fan Boy” is gold too.

How does one go from a non techical role ( announcer/music director) to a highly technical role of broadcast engineer ? I guess engineering degrees DO come in pack of coco pops now.
