Adelaide station reveals fresh approach to supporting bushfire-affected small businesses

Fresh 92.7 is teaming up with Showcase SA and Glam Adelaide to provide assistance to businesses disrupted by the bushfires to the tune of over $300,000.

The station plans to support the whole region throughout 2020 and is offering free sponsorship packages to small business owners in the wake of the devastating fires in recent weeks.

Announcing the project today, general manager Dave Shearer said that the station has been thinking of what it can do to help over the long term, given that the fires have been so widespread.

“As a small, community-focused operation ourselves, we have no cash to donate, but we can offer Community Service Announcements (CSA’s) and have decided that this is our focus in 2020.

“We already do a weekly feature called ‘Give a little love’ that helps struggling small businesses, and the response we have had has been phenomenal.”

By rotating a variety of places, along with help from our friends and partners at Glam Adelaide and Showcase SA, he says Fresh will endeavour to help as many people as possible.

“The emphasis is on the long-term rebuilding, and we know that it will take time so this project fits perfectly,” he added.

Fresh is donating $100,000 worth of CSA’s throughout the year and Showcase SA and Glam Adelaide are matching this with another $100,000 each.

The project is now open for applications and anyone who needs help can register any business on the Fresh website.

Fresh 92.7 is the most popular Community Radio Station in South Australia according to the latest McNair survey reveals, which revealed that that Fresh has 190,000 weekly listeners who listen for over 13 average hours per week.
