Fifi, Fev & Byron‘s Fox Key Party was cancelled this morning (Wednesday, March 12) due to concerns over the coronavirus.

The listener party was set to see Fox FM host 300 listener finalists, all who were in the running to win $30,000 from Mandalay Homes.

In less than 24 hours, Fox were forced to call all 300 listeners to inform them the party had been cancelled.

However, with the prize still up for grabs, Breakfast team Fifi, Fev & Byron decided to go ahead with a live stream regardless, calling listeners between 8 and 8:30am this morning to decide a winner.

“We regret to inform you that we have made the tough decision to cancel tomorrow’s Fox FM Key Party event,” said Fox in a message to finalists.

“As you know, the Novel Coronavirus (officially called COVID-19) is currently impacting our region and our world and our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected.

“We take the health and safety of our visitors and staff very seriously and like many businesses, we are now taking further precautionary measures regarding holding large events at our premises.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the late cancellation of this event. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.”

Fifi, Fev & Byron made the winning phone call just after 8:15am. Listen below:
