First speakers announced for Radio Conference

Staff Writer

With less than a month until the National Radio Conference in Brisbane, CRA have announced the first two speakers who will be appearing.

Sam Cavanagh is SCA's National Executive Producer and will present "Fans Not Listeners", which he showcased at Radiodays Europe earlier this year. There his preso was called the "best radio talk I've seen in 5 years" – see here.

Sam, who produced Hamish & Andy at the height of their success, will detail changes in the way audiences consume content and how some of the most successful shows are pushing content across multiple platforms. He will also talk about radio brands getting closer to their audiences and encouraging greater involvement in what they do.

Also appearing at the conference will be Adam Ferrier who is founding partner of Naked Communications. You may also recognise Adam from Gruen Planet on the ABC.

“If Psychologists Ran Radio Stations” is the title of his presentation. Before the conference, CD's and PD's from some networks will be asked to complete surveys on their brand’s “personality”. The result will be a different slant on how a radio brand might be programmed based on its personality.

CRA's CEO Joan Warner said: “We are excited to have both Adam Ferrier and Sam Cavanagh speak at the National Radio Conference this year. Both are passionate and engaging speakers with innovative and interesting ideas.”

Further speakers for the October 11 conference will be announced in the coming weeks.
