Factory reset and downtime for Dave Cameron
Dave Cameron has booked himself in for a factory reset and some well-earned down time, with GfK Survey 4 this week officially the last under his leadership at SCA.
Sudden news of his departure as Chief Content Officer threw the radio industry a curve ball, with Cameron last week stepping down after five years in the role, and more than three decades at SCA.
Of the latest survey results, Cameron said on LinkedIn “It’s been particularly great seeing the growth of some of the newer breakfast shows in the last year starting to pop – patience is a virtue in this industry!”
Cameron has long been committed to developing and mentoring new leadership and talent, both on-air and off, and says he hopes he has helped contribute to a great culture that has also infinitely shaped who he is as both a leader and a person.
“I thank my amazing and loyal Content Leadership Team who are ready to fly sky high, as well as management, and dear friends at both SCA, competitors, and across the whole media and entertainment industry.”
SCA will assess the future requirements of its Chief Content Officer role, before starting a recruitment process later this year. For now, Matthew O’Reilly has taken on an expanded role as Head of Broadcast Content.
