Erin Phillips back on Adelaide radio

When champion AFLW (and WNBA for that matter) player Erin Phillips retired from football and Port Adelaide in 2023 she must have revisited her 2022 decision to step back from her radio commitments. At that point she was working full time for Mix 102.3, playing football and had a very young family. Prior to that she had spent two years co-hosting breakfast on the station with Mark ‘Soda’ Soderstrom before he moved to SAFM.

Soda had championed Phillips’ move into radio saying at the time:

“Erin has a great knack of succeeding at everything she puts her mind to and I have no doubt radio will be the same. Erin’s dedication, commitment and work ethic are inspiring and I hope some of it will rub off on me. As a world-class athlete she has got a powerful pair of shoulders, which she’ll need to carry me.”

Now the pair will be reunited.

Phillips will appear on both of Adelaide’s SCA stations; SAFM, where Soda is currently on breakfast with Rebecca ‘Bec’ Morse and on Triple M’s The Rush Hour with Bernie, Blewie and Jars (Bernie Vince, Greg Blewett and Andrew Jarman).

At this point Phillips involvement is weekly and guest contributions, but in sports mad South Australia it’ll only be a matter of time before it’s becomes a permanent role for the very talented star.
