Em Rusciano: “Look, who knows how long it’s going to last?”
Em Rusciano woke at 4am ahead of her new 2Day FM breakfast show this morning.
Last night the comedian took to her Facebook page to discuss “the media’s obsession with the fact that Harley and I won’t be living full time in Sydney”.
Em told fans, “I don’t think you care where a show comes out of, if it’s good, it’s good, and I promise you the show is going to be as good as we’ve got.”
We all know location matters – the word “local” is ingrained in us.
However, times are a changing. So do talent and content trump geography?
We’ll know more on 14 March when survey #1 results are out.
But judging by the show’s first hour this morning, it’s apparent Sydney is going to get a feverishly new start to the morning, if they so choose; the first hour sounded noticeably charged and uniquely different to its established competitors.
Em and Harley definitely bring something new to the most competitive market in Australia.
But still, the fact that the Em Rusciano Radio Show with Harley Breen is not broadcast from Sydney has many of us divided.
So why won’t Em and Harley just make the move to Sydney?
“I’m not a selfish person. I’m not going to make my children uproot their lives.
“Look, who knows how long it’s going to last, let’s be realistic,” Em said in a video posted to Facebook.
“Sometimes we’ll be in the Sydney studios and sometimes we won’t, and some people will try and make a big deal out of it, but it’s not a big deal, I don’t think you give a shit.”
We’d like to know what you think. Head to our Twitter poll and have your say.
Tonight @EmRusciano told fans: “I won’t uproot my family to Sydney when the radio show may not last”
Q: Do you need to be in market to win?
