Ed Kavalee joins 4MMM

Southern Cross Austereo has announced that Ed Kavalee will be joining the Triple M Brisbane Breakfast Show in January 2014.

Kavalee has a strong radio pedigree, having previously hosted Get This with Tony Martin and the late Richard Marsland, the Nova 100 Breakfast show with Hughesy & Kate, and presently hosting the Triple M summer Breakfast show.

He also has a high television profile through the Fox Sports 'Total Football' show, and 'Thank God You're Here'.

Kavalee said;

“I’m stoked to be returning to Brisbane and to Triple M! There’s no better place for shenanigans than your home town and there’s no better time for them than before people have eaten their breakfast.”

Triple M Group Content Director, Mike Fitzpatrick said,

“We’ve wanted to get Ed back to Triple M for years. Brisbane is perfect. It makes sense for him to return to his radio home in his childhood town. He is a real talent, has a fantastic radio brain and is a perfect fit for The Grill Team. He is also about to get married and needs the money.”

Kavalee is replacing Pete Timbs, who exits the show after two years; Greg 'Marto' Martin and Michelle Anderson remain as part of the new show.

In S8/13 Triple M Brisbane recorded a 8.0% overall, and an 8.0% in Breakfast, the 4th ranked commercial FM station in each.
