Early runs on the board for Fairfax

Fairfax Radio is hoping for a bumper spend as they roll out their team of cricket commentary legends, Ian Chappell, Dean Jones, Greg Matthews, Glenn McGrath and Tim Lane.

They have been doing the rounds of media agencies as the network pitches this year's commercial radio cricket coverage.

 

Fairfax Radio Network Content Director Clark Forbes told RadioToday:

“This cricket season is a pivotal one for the Australian cricket team and our cricket commentators will call all the action right across summer.  To complement the fantastic array of cricket commentary talent we have this year who provide the best live calls and insights, we will soon be announcing new additions to our expert team which makes our network a true cricket destination.”

The network is starting is coverage early this year with the Australian cricket team set  to play India, England and South Africa on home soil.

Fairfax Radio's roadshow had some great attendances on day one, according to Network National Sales Director Nick Randall: "Our media agency ‘Drinks Break’ cricket promotion that have been designed to drive interest in our range of partnerships. We have already signed brands such as Harvey Norman and Hardy’s Wines, so our cricket broadcast is off to a great start.”

It is year two of Fairfax Radio Network’s  five year broadcast rights agreement.
