Eardrum radio campaign encourages Victorians to “get some zoo in you”

Audio specialist agency Eardrum has created a warmly offbeat holiday campaign for Zoos Victoria.

Two ads present a light-hearted turnaround for a parent worrying about too much screen time, and a child dealing with the social pressures of school.

Performed by actor Kate Box (Deadloch, Wentworth) the concept revolves around how the simple act of staring at a zoo animal can be a much-needed circuit breaker to the concerns of daily life.

Zoos Victoria General Manager of Marketing Brendan Dodd says “Eardrum challenged us to be less literal and focus on the emotional benefits of visiting the zoo. The result is a charming, relatable campaign that’s bound to stand out on air.”

“We all know what we’ll see at the zoo, but we take for granted how it makes us feel,” says Ralph van Dijk, founding Creative Director of Eardrum. “It’s such a unique way to reconnect with nature and tune out the human world for a blissful moment.”

The campaign will be heard on Victorian radio stations throughout the summer holidays.
