The ABC’s annual Giveathon gets underway tomorrow, with a day of fun, special guests and prizes being promised as the national broadcaster raises funds for Australians in need.

ABC Radio Sydney Breakfast host Craig Reucassel is even offering himself up as a prize.

“Join me for Breakfast from 5:30am, where you’ll have the chance to win a very special prize – me, coming to your house and sorting your recycling for the week!”

This year, the national broadcaster has partnered with Foodbank for its ABC Gives appeal. For every $1 donated, Foodbank can provide two meals for those doing it tough.

ABC Radio Sydney will give listeners the chance to win prizes across tomorrow’s Giveathon including tickets to Richard Glover’s final TGIF.

James Valentine will also auction off a dinner, to be hosted by him.

Tune in for Giveathon tomorrow on ABC Radio Sydney 702AM or via the ABC listen app.

There’ll be events around the country, with ABC Radio Melbourne Mornings and The Conversation Hour to broadcast live from Foodbank Victoria’s warehouse at Yarraville. As part of the fundraising effort, departing Breakfast presenter Sammy J plans to kayak from Fairfield down the Yarra River.

ABC Radio Brisbane Breakfast will kick of Giveathon encouraging listeners to donate to Foodbank in order to meet targets across the day.

ABC Radio Adelaide Breakfast and Mornings will broadcast from The Grosvenor Hotel, with a Lions Club barbecue running to raise funds in person. ABC Radio Adelaide presenters will nominate an activity to perform for a donation.

ABC Radio Perth Breakfast will throw open its Breakfast by the River broadcast on the Canning River in Wilson to ABC Gives. Host Mark Gibson will be joined by staff from Foodbank and Sam McGovern from The Voice.

ABC Radio Darwin Mornings will broadcast live from Foodbank NT‘s brand-new distribution centre in Yarrawonga, Darwin.
