COSMOS sorts myth from reality in the Debunks podcast

Australian science news publication COSMOS has partnered with Nine Media to make sense of all the curious modern questions that have our attention in the new Debunks podcast.

Series one of Debunks investigates electric vehicles, series two debunks myths around weight and series three will cover vices such as coffee, sweeteners, alcohol and vaping.

In series one, Debunks investigates the science of exploding EV batteries and whether EVs are more prone to catching fire, then Debunks asks if EVs are really the most environmentally friendly car choice. 

“The answers will surprise a lot of people,” says COSMOS News Editor Ian Mannix. “And that’s exactly what ‘Debunks’ is all about.

“Above all else our people ‘talk human’, so that listeners get a really clear handle on what interests them.”

Nine Media Head of Podcasting, Mia Stern says the project presents a reliable source of information on the topics explored. 

“In the age of misinformation, it’s increasingly difficult to know what to believe on the internet,” she said.

“Debunks will use the expertise of the COSMOS science journalists to explore the real facts in a fun, entertaining format.”
