Community broadcasting front and centre during talks in Canberra

Reporter

Inclusion and diversity in community broadcasting took centre stage during talks in the nation’s capital this week.

Juan Paolo Legaspi, President of the National Ethnic and Multicultural Broadcasters’ Council (Nembc) and Reece Kinnane, Head of Advocacy and Communications at the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA), met with Maria Vamvakinou MP in Canberra to discuss the importance of community broadcasting to social cohesion.

The Nembc coordinates projects to support, engage and develop ethnic and multicultural community broadcasting, particularly focusing on youth, women and new and emerging communities.

It is dedicated to ensuring that ethnic and multicultural communities have a strong voice in Australian broadcasting.
