Chrissie “swamped with offers”

Staff Writer

Chrissie Swan has been all over the news since her sacking from Mix 101.1's Breakfast Show, and the PR offensive continues this weekend with News Limited.

Earlier in the week Swan had said that she had no idea why she was dumped, however she has now told News that she is unable to discuss the reasons given due to confidentiality clauses.

Speaking to News, she said:

“I can’t talk about anything like that, sadly, there are confidentiality agreements in place.

Radio is volatile. Every time at about this time of the year there’s gonna be changes and radio is a fun job and you immerse yourself in it, it becomes your life."

“So it’s very rare to leave it of your own volition because it’s like cutting your arm off. You can’t imagine missing out on all that fun.”

Swan went on to say that since the sacking she has been swamped with offers but it yet to decide which she will accept.

“At this stage I’m just hunting and gathering information and I’m just getting it all on the table and probably in a couple of weeks I will make those big decisions. I don’t know what I’m doing next year but I’m still going to be working"

“It’s a huge time and choice is hard. It’s incredibly exciting but I need to make the right choices and sometimes when there’s a lot it’s hard, it’s almost easier if you just have one. I’ve got to weigh up a whole lot of things.”

Chrissie Swan was sacked by ARN last week and replaced with former Fox FM Breakfast host Matt Tilley.

The move will coincide with the rebranding of Mix to KIIS 101.1 and follows a long period of poor ratings. In the most recent survey, Mix was the lowest ranked Melbourne FM station, with the 'Chrissie & Jane' Breakfast show the 2nd lowest ranked FM Breakfast show.
