Chrissie, Sam & Browny clock up 1,000 shows

Staff Writer

Nova 100’s Breakfast team in Melbourne marked 1,000 shows this week.

The Chrissie, Sam & Browny show – featuring Chrissie Swan, Sam Pang and Jonathan Brown – first went to air in 2016, replacing Meshel Laurie and Tommy Little.

Swan said she was a “lucky duck” and that the show was just as fun in 2021, as it had been in 2016.

It was a relatively understated affair, with Nova not releasing any official statement on the milestone, however the trio did celebrate on Instagram and play ‘From The Vault’ on yesterdays show, reliving one of the team’s most embarrassing and cringe-worthy on-air moments.

In the most recent ratings survey, Nova 100 had a 6.3% share in Breakfast, up from 5.9% in the prior survey. This put it behind FM leader, The Christian O’Connell Show, on GOLD 104.3 (7.5%), and Eddie McGuire and Luke Darcy’s final outing on Triple M (6.8%). It was only narrowly behind Fox FM’s Fifi, Feb & Byron (6.6%), but remained ahead of KIIS’ Jase & PJ (5.4%), and smooth’s The More Music Breakfast Show with Mike Person & Jennifer Hansen (5.3%).

A thousand shows too many. They are being beaten by Eddie, Christian, Fox and Jase’s show is almost rating as high. Why isn’t Pang on full time and why does radio keep pandering to TV
” talent ” like Sam and Ed Kavalee just because they are on TV and ” test ” well in talent research. The proof is in the pudding, how does it sound on air and how does it rate, should be the question. Nova would be a should be embarrassed by the track record of this show.
Its never, ever really kicked goals ( except for the TV ‘ talent ‘ bank accounts.

Fantastic achievement from the entire CSB team (rare that a show these days goes into its 6th year with all original on air team still there) , have listened to them since day one and they still give me a laugh every morning. Being a Melbourne resident they helped me get the horrible lock down we had to go through last year.
