Celebrating 18 years of Jonesy & Amanda

Reporter

WSFM Breakfast duo Jonesy & Amanda last night celebrated 18 years on the airwaves with an iHeartLIVE event: ‘An Evening with Jonesy & Amanda.’

The exclusive one-off show was held at the Sydney Coliseum Theatre, in front of a lively audience of 3,000 listeners.

Crafted in the style of a live radio broadcast, the 90-minute event captured the spirit of Jonesy & Amanda’s Breakfast show, featuring their trademark banter, special guests and a live performance by the legendary Marcia Hines.

As Jonesy & Amanda commemorated their remarkable 18-year partnership, the evening served as a poignant tribute to their enduring on-air camaraderie.

The show also concluded the year in grand style, revisiting the highlights of 2023 through a ‘Year That Was’ slideshow.

Take it easy, Cynthia. You do know it’s possible to talk up a radio show without needing to drag another one down, right?

Did they give everyone in the audience a lecture on climate change?

@MW – No, I’m completely correct in my statement. The quality of Jonesy & Amanda surpasses Kyle & Jackie O x 10000.

@Cynthia

I don’t doubt for one second that your honest opinion is that JA is a better show than KJ. The problem is, it does the industry a great disservice to pit shows against one another. Both radio shows have a die hard and deserving following. Whether you love or dislike a particlular show, you can’t deny that it brings happiness and entertainment to an audience. Radio is a wonderful medium with incredibly talented and creative personalities, both on and off the air. As we celebrate 100 years of radio, let’s focus on what brings us together as an industry rather than what pulls us apart.
