Canberra Ratings: Hit104.7 pips Mix past the post

Canberra’s commercial radio stations are back on top in Survey #1 of 2019, with upward swings towards both Hit104.7 and Mix 106.3 placing them first and second respectively.

Hit finished the survey period with a 17.8% (+3.5) share of listening among People 10+, while Mix grew +2.7 to finish with 17%.

ABC Canberra had ended 2018 as the top station in Canberra, but fell to 12.1% (-3.2) this time around.

ARN and SCA joint venture Mix won out in Breakfast, with newly installed show Kristen & Nige securing an 18% (+4.7) share of listening to finish ahead of ABC Canberra and Ned & Josh on Hit104.7.

The National Hit Network’s combination of Carrie & Tommy, and Hughesy & Kate, were easy winners in Drive with 22.4% (+3.6).

Meantime it was a good result for triple j, who typically start the year strong.

Overall the public FM broadcaster rose +1.7 to a 10.4% share, and on Breakfast Ben & Liam were up +1.3 to 9.5%.
