Cameron Smith commits to SEN for another 3 years

Rugby League great, Cameron Smith, has re-signed with SEN to continue with the popular footy podcast, ‘The Captain’s Run.’

Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) confirmed Smith will continue to co-host the weekly show alongside Bloke in a Bar founder, Denan Kemp, who has also re-signed with the network.

The timeslot for ‘The Captain’s Run’ will be extended to 3 hours from 2022, running live from 9am-12pm to allow for more in-depth analysis and time with guests.

Smith and Denan’s tongue-in-cheek banter has resonated with all sports fans, and the pair enjoy a great on-air dynamic that has seen them re-sign.

The show can be heard on SEN 1170 Sydney, as well as 1053 Brisbane, 1620 Gold Coast, and across regional QLD on the SEN network of stations and the SEN app.

“I am really pleased to re-sign with SEN long-term. Hutch [Craig Hutchison] has a great vision for continued growth through Australia and New Zealand, and feedback on our content this year has been really positive,” said Cameron Smith.

Smith will also appear on 1170 SEN’s Breakfast with Vossy and Breakfast with Pat and Heals on 1053 and 1620 in southern QLD.

SEN Content Manager, Jeremy Markham, said: “Confirming Cameron Smith on a long-term deal is the next step in our plans to deliver local content in every market across Australia and New Zealand. And the addition of Saturdays on the Gold Coast is another example of how committed we are to achieving this.”

In Southern Queensland, SEN will also introduce new digital station SENQ as part of a commitment to increased Queensland content.

New local content will include a new Saturday morning program ‘Saturdays on the Gold Coast’ which will be co-hosted by Jase Matthews and Titans forward Jarrod Wallace from 8am to 10am (local time) each week, focusing on all the local sports and social news around the Gold Coast and South East Queensland. The program airs on 1620 SEN Gold Coast.

Please clarify the misleading communication from SEN; ‘…introduce digital station…’

It is not a digital radio station ie. not leasing any DAB+ spectrum.

Online or internet streaming station is a more honest & clear description.
